Polished Concrete Project Details

- Scope of Project – Machine grind and remove old epoxy. Grind concrete surface. Then hone, densify and seal floor. Fill expansion joints.
- Project Solution – Utilize grinding and polishing equipment to fully remove old epoxy. Grind surface to remove old glues and expose fresh surface. Once epoxies were removed, Custom Concrete Solutions commenced the polish process with 30, 80 and 150 grit PCD’s (Polycrystalline diamond pads) The polishing process starts with course diamond abrasives followed by subsequent Resin – Bonded Diamond Pads. Floors can be polished up to 1,500 – 3,000 grit. In this project the highest level was 150 followed by application of a densifier and sealer. Read More About Concrete Polishing
Products Used to Hone & Polish Floor
- Consolideck LS – Densifier used was manufactured by Prosoco called Consolideck LS. This is a lithium silicate hardner and treatment. It reduces dusting and maintenance. It is quick cure and enhances light reflection.
- Consolideck PolishGuard – The finish sealer used in this project was Consolideck PolishGuard by Prosoco. It enhances the curb appeal of gray or decorative concrete.
