POLISHED CONCRETE FLOORS
A polished concrete floor will make use of a comparable progressive grinding and sealing technique as epoxy, but polishing it smooths the cement into a shiny, semi shine or matte finish after sealing. Concrete floors that are polished use a similar grind and seal process as epoxy floors – except that buffing concrete with progressively finer grit, refines the cement into a shiny, semi shine or matte finish. The same look as polished concrete flooring can be achieved with decorative concrete overlays, where the finish is more easily controllable in application and result. Self-leveling concrete floors can be poured in an hour, and result in an elegant, yet seamless look, often seen in galleries and showrooms, banquet halls and retail stores. Concrete overlays are being used extensively, and you’ll also see them in shopping malls.

CONCRETE STAINING FOR FLOORS
Stained concrete flooring is an attractive, one of a kind flooring surface which is ideal for residential use. Architects can choose from two kinds of color system options; acid stains or dyes. Concrete dyes or acids which each produces distinctly different outcomes depending on your goals. Many property owners gravitate to the leather look found in some restaurants for a rich, earthy look. A plain seamless expanse of flooring can become much more interesting with patterns of flowers, logos, stone or mosaics. Then the surface is color stained or dyed. Experts then apply epoxy or urethane sealers for additional protection.
